Bananas at Large Musc, author and teacher Steve Roby, and top area musicians are teaming up to honor the life and music of Jimi Hendrix. It’s an opportunity to see rare videos from Steve Roby’s collection developed over 30 years. He’ll also be signing copies of his biographical book, “Black Gold, The Lost
Archives of Jimi Hendrix”
Hendrix’ music will be brought to life by the Vernon “Ice” Black Band, featuring Vernon on guitar and acclaimed bassist Stuart Hamm, as well as a roster of special guest artists. Vernon Black performed with original Hendrix band members Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell, and has toured with many top acts, among them Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, and Lionel Richie. Bananas at Large will be giving away various goodies including a guitar and gift certificates.
Admission is free. It all happens Thursday, August 30th, at 7:00 PM. Bananas at Large is located at 1504 Fourth St, at ‘E’, in downtown San Rafael.
