Starting out in the "way back when" with legendary Dr. Hook and the Medicine show, Rik got his chops playing with some of the biggest names of the times and to packed houses. Rik's reputation for his tasteful playing style added to the band and helped shape it's signature sound. But don't let Rik's pedigree fool you. This guy has never sat back and rested on his laurels. When the '80s came round and Guitar Synth came knockin' Rik decided it was time to step up to the challenge. He approached the guitar synth in a new way, realizing early on, you have to play your guitar like the instrument you are emulating, not just like a guitar. He became instantly known as the "go to guy" on guitar synth and virtual guitar processing. As the '80s wound down and the '90s rolled in Rik became fascinated with looping devices. Never one to back down from a challenge Rik set out to master looping. He now performs on a regular basis with his looping technology. Rik has played and understands the workings of every looper out there... making him the "go to guy (again)" on loopers. Having firmly proven himself in the world of technology Rik decided one day to set his sites on something more basic. In the 2000's Rik decided to learn Banjo. Within a few weeks Rik was ripping it up on the Banjo. Much to everyone's delight he got so good he is now our resident teacher for Banjo.
All this really proves is Rik's journey has just begun. Come down and hang out with our journeyman!
