The low-distortion Class A preamp section is transformer coupled, which provides a warmth all its own. This is a Neve-style architecture without the massive price tag. Variable Impedance lets you optimally load a microphone, which greatly affects (and improves) frequency response, and variable Saturation introduces tube-type harmonic energy. Switches are provided for +48V phantom power, 80Hz rumble filter, -20dB pad and phase inversion. Instruments are accepted via the 1/4" front panel jack.

The compression section is highly adjustable, with variable threshold, attack, release and gain makeup. Soft-knee characteristic and a sidechain with hi-pass filter are selectable. The fully parametric EQ has three overlapping bands and fully adjustable 'Q'. EQ and Compression sections can be swapped in signal path order. Balanced send/return jacks allow incorporation of external processors. TRS and XLR balanced outputs can be used simultaneously. The VU meter shows gain reduction or input level.
