The Fuzz Head offers better tone, transparency and frequency response than regular Fuzz Face pedals which can be muddy, lack note definition, be too bassy and lack sustain.
The circuit is based around an NPN Germanium transistor and has an additional Silicon Darlington Pair gain stage for tons of volume output. This is great for overdriving tube amps or other overdrive pedals.
The Fuzz Head features true bypass switching.
Flip the Silicon / Germanium toggle switch to "Si" mode to bring two diodes (one silicon and one germanium in parallel) into the distortion circuit for a modern twist on a vintage sound. This setting also increases the gain and compression.
Simple to set up and use as a lead boost! Use it in conjunction with Keeley TS9-808, BD-2ph or DS-1 pedals for a great combination.
